The Purpose Of The Optical Fiber Recoater Is To Restore The Optical Fiber Coating Of Processed Ordinary Optical Fibers Or Various Types Of Optical Fibers Such As Polarization-Maintaining Optical Fibers And Ribbon Optical Fibers.
There are two key types of recoaters: automatic and manual. These are distinguished by the type of mould assembly used in the device and the amount of hands-on interaction. Both allow for the direct injection of material into the mould cavity.
Manual recoaters use a hinged top that can be opened and closed by hand. They inject the material into the mould cavity through a cross channel in the mould top plate. Manual recoaters are preferred for low-volume applications or if the mould size or process must be changed frequently.
Automatic recoaters use an automated pneumatic mould assembly. They involve a pneumatic gripper assembly to open and close the mould plates in a front-to-back direction. This allows direct injection of the recoat material into the mould cavity without any excess material to clean after each recoat. Once the fiber is positioned the entire recoat process is performed automatically. Fully automatic operation makes this system ideal for high-volume fiber processing.
An optical fibre recoater is used to restore the coating layer of fused optical fiber. The coating material is injected into the mould cavity through the coating liquid channel in the top plate. Recoaters can be selected with automatic mould assemblies or manual mould assemblies. Our manual recoaters use a hinged top that can be opened and closed manually, while our automatic recoaters utilize pneumatic mould assemblies that automatically inject coating fluid into the mould cavity. Both automatic coating machines and manual coating machines use quartz moulds. The surface of the quartz template is specially coated to prevent the coating liquid from solidifying between the templates and avoid coating defects.
